What the problem actually is.
Plantation drives are the most photographed and least effective form of environmental work in the country. Saplings go in during a morning event and die quietly over the following summer, with nobody counting.
We plant fewer and count survivors at three years. Every site has a watering arrangement and a named guardian, and the survival figure is published even when it is poor.
The second strand is the one closest to our parent's own business: electronic waste. Telecom generates a great deal of it, and India recycles very little of it safely. We run take-back for handsets, routers and batteries into certified recyclers, and we are candid that this is as much an obligation as a charity.
Who this is for: Villages restoring shared natural resources, and schools and health centres needing reliable power.
The work, specifically.
Each of these is funded with its running costs included - stipends, repairs, follow-up - because that is what decides whether it survives past the first year.
Tree planting with survival tracking
Native species, a watering arrangement, a named guardian, and a published survival rate at three years.
Electronic waste take-back
Collection of handsets, routers and batteries routed to certified recyclers, with certificates issued.
Solar for community buildings
Panels and batteries for the schools and health centres we connect, so a power cut does not end the service.
Water body restoration
Desilting and bund repair for village ponds and tanks, with the panchayat leading.
School environment clubs
Practical projects run by students - composting, segregation, nursery raising.

Second Life
Corporate electronic waste taken back to certified recyclers, and usable machines rebuilt for device libraries.
How it works →
Three things that would make a difference here.
- Send us your organisation's end-of-life electronics for certified recycling.
- Fund solar for one health centre.
- Adopt a plantation site and its three-year maintenance.
